Usually, Yummy Italy’s founder and owner, Helena carries out the personally-guided experiences personally unless she is unavailable, in which case she works together with a small handful of excellent guides with dedicated food and wine certifications. Should you choose our Quick Bites: Emilia Romagna's Food and Wine Highlights-Self-Guided Tours / Tours without a Private Guide the experiences will be guided directly by the producers.
Prices for experiences are variable and will depend on the amount of people.
As a general rule, all pre-tour coordination, supplier bookings, personal guiding fee, hygiene kits (where necessary) and all tastings are included. A sit-down lunch is included only where mentioned.
Transport, souvenirs, tips, medical and health insurance are not included.
Of course! If you are happy to drive, then please take your own or hire car. Usually the guide rides with the guests, so if your guide has to take their own car for a longer tour for whatever reason, there may be a small supplement charged for gas.
The type of foods served depend very much on the type of tour that takes place. We can organize experiences so that your dietary requirements are met in the best way possible.
We love spending time with kids! However, we do try to offer experiences that we know kids will love such as the Parmigiano Reggiano experience or we can organize a bespoke experience for your family.
We are happy to help streamline your experiences with our “Dash of Itinerary Magic” service so that you can go it alone with ease. This usually involves a video call preceded by a questionnaire.
In Italy, payments on behalf of clients for accommodation and transport can only be legally carried out by tour operators. Yummy Italy offers a travel and event planning and guiding service exclusively. We can make suggestions and put you in contact with accommodation and transport services but clients will need to pay them directly.
Yummy Italy’s owner and founder, Helena, is not a licensed historical/artistic guide (this is the background usually required to become a licensed guide) but a food and wine expert, and as such, is able to host epicurean experiences. While some of the guides we work with may be licensed guides they will always have dedicated food and wine certifications.
No. Legally, guides in Italy are unable to host guests in their own cars to and from third party destinations for insurance purposes. This is why we work with dedicated drivers who have all the necessary insurance cover for paying guests.
If budget is an issue regarding a dedicated private driver, we suggest hiring your own car and driving yourselves. The cost is generally less than a private driver and it will give you the freedom to explore more than just your tour environment. Driving in Emilia Romagna is uneventful and the roads are good. Road safety regulations are strictly enforced. If you would prefer neither a driver nor self-drive, we suggest you opt for an experience in one of the city centres that does not require transport.
Yes! Where we have contacts that work in a similar way to us and we believe whole-heartedly in what they do because it resonates with our philosophy and they can guarantee an in-depth, fun and highly knowledgeable food and wine experience, we can put you in touch with them directly for a small fee. Please contact us for details.
